| Fully renovated in 1998 to a high standard, "La Basserie"is a typical large 18th century Normandy farmhouse. |
| It is built on a hillside in a delightful and secluded rural position on the fringes of the small village of Ver, close to the charming market town of Gavray. |
| The house has four bedrooms, two large doubles, one large twin or triple and one smaller bedroom that can be a single or a double with bunkbeds, all of which have wonderful views across the valley and countryside. |
| There are two bathrooms (both with WC and bath, one with separate shower), a comfortable sitting room, a large living room / dining room with farmhouse table to seat 10 and a log-burning stove, and a fully-fitted modern kitchen which overlooks the patio, fitted with gas hob and electric oven. There is also a pantry and a utility room. |

The house is comprehensively equipped with heating, dishwasher, fridge and fridge-freezer, microwave, washing machine and of course all kitchen utensils. Bed covers or duvets are supplied, but not linen or duvet covers. There is also garden furniture, loungers, a barbeque, a library, a selection of games and two cots. There is no television, which seems to be much appreciated by our guests. |
| To the front of the house is our own three acre field which guests are welcome to use. To the rear is a delightful stepped garden with gravelled boules court, lawns with flower borders and a vegetable garden. |
